Dear voters,
How is my candidacy different and unique? Among other things,
1. I am the only candidate who has been willing to give in the candidacy if I can find better quality candidate.
2. I am the only candidate with specific COVID-19 Two track action plan, to control and/or eradicate in Hawaii; so, among other things, Keikis don’t have to wear mask at school.
Last 2 1/2 years of pandemic has revealed lots of flaws in our society.
Especially, pandemic management by the officials was utter failure; and they basically abandoned us since delta invasion. Sadly, Media have been silent and rather in cahoots especially with Josh Green who had caused mass casualties in delta floodgate.
In my Covid two track plan, although tightening our ports with more screening and tests is necessary at the same time, but to control within Hawaii, we want to test everyone altogether, perhaps two weekend days, Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. If not successful, we do it again the following weekends until we eradicate the virus for no case for about 10-14 days for Omicron.
This can be self reported all voluntarily thru mobile app, self isolated if needed, without requiring any lockdown.
2ndly, for travelers coming to the islands, we test them before boarding, and test again following morning after arrival.
If cannot be done before boarding, we test during flight, but mask mandate during the time and until testing in the following morning.
The protocol may be adjusted and changed accordingly as necessary.
And, these methods would become benchmarking and guidelines for possible future invasion by the other variants and microbes.
3. I am the only candidate with specific Media Reform plans. Among others, Journalists Labor Union and Media Mediation Commission for General public.
My plans totally guarantee Media’s 1st amendment, free speech and press.
(But, they may come in only when they make fake news.)
4. I am the only candidate who promote emotional growth among us; and also we want to implement emotional health curricula at our schools.
Hawaii is sick, and we need treatment. Especially, we need more healing from the pain that we have not been consciously aware.
5. I am the only candidate with much bigger picture with more specific plans, in pursuing self-sustainable economic growth.
We are facing stagflation due to pandemic; and boosting economy while diversifying to self-sustainable levels is necessary.
In that, we need to boost transportation; bringing back ferries, making roads like H4, H5 freeways , and connecting Kaena point.
If need quick revenue growth, we may want to bring Las Vegas casino to the islands, but not in Waikiki.
And, affordable housing may not be possible without sufficient revenues no matter how good plans are.
In order to reduce cost of living, we need to sufficiently grow our own foods, make our own goods, produce more cost-effective alternative energy like nuclear power.
As Jones Act alternative, we also want to build US port like in Jonston Island, so we reduce shipping cost to and from Western Pacific regions.
To control ever increasing house price, for example, we want to implement Aloha Score, in addition to FICO score, so non residents cannot buy Hawaii property only with money.
Plz, refer to my plan, Aloha dept and Aloha Court, as well.
We build our own Hawaii nation within Nation.
So, we become independent and interdependent with federal government.
In conclusion, so far, I haven’t found any candidate, who can do better, and also honor and carry on with my plans.
Plz support me, and vote for Richard Kim for your Governor.
Thank you very much.
Testing mandate, (if any).
If there may exist or suspect spread, especially community spread, I would (may) probably want the affected population to have testing mandate.
In worst scenario, I would (may) want to test any or all people on the islands, especially at the same time, in order to quickly identify and isolate such affected patients.
Aloha.
No mask mandate! (goal)
Some people falsely think I would implement mask mandate as if all the time.
That’s not true.
I also don’t want to implement mask mandate at all, although I may promote wearing masks, since masking helps prevent transmission of the virus, if any.
At my current plan, I would only want to implement mask mandate, when you fly, especially when you return or travel to the islands. (We still need to negotiate with Fed for it.)
Once we achieve eradication or control of the virus within the islands, I would never want to implement mask mandate at any place, even at our schools or indoors.
But, I will do one by one, and step by step.
Plz, be patient til then.
We can do it together.
Mahalo.
I just got updated? info about COVID19, from a livestreaming seminar (for my CE) that I have been taking early this morning, from Mayo clinic in Minnesota.
New varaiants alert; Deltacron and XE.
XE, especially.
Its growth rate is 10% higher than BA.2, stealth omicron, which was already 50% more transmissible than Omicron. Evidence of community spread by XE within England.
(Omicron’s R0 is 12, which was already among the worst in any transmission. Only one monoclonal antibody, Bebtelovimab, is effective against Omicron.)
And, the 2nd booster is only 6-8 weeks effective, according to Israeli studies, although still better to receive it, if can. (As I already posted days ago, its benefits are relatively very marginal.)
Aloha.
How do we know the islands are free from the virus, at least from current Omicron, (ASSUMING we are effectively controlling the virus at our ports)?
It usually depends on the incubation periods. Although the original strain had usually up to 2 weeks incubation, but Omicron may have shorter, perhaps 5 days.
So, if we are free from Omicron for about a week (if safely add 2 more days) incubation x 2= TWO weeks, then we may safely think, it has disappeared in our islands, as long as we don’t suffer from more influx of the virus.
I hope it happens soon, and we enjoy our daily lives back to normal.
Aloha.
How to effectively control or eradicate the virus internally (inside Hawaii), once we control our ports well?
Since many people don’t want lockdown, (which may be still fastest way to control the virus), we want to test any and all people on the islands AT THE SAME TIME, perhaps on weekend, preferably two consecutive days (or different intervals and frequency, as needed), with advanced notice and preparation, but repeat such (antigen) tests on the following weekend(s), if and as necessary, till we achieve eradication of the virus.
The goal is to isolate the infected as quickly as possible, and treat them early if and as necessary.
If we control or eradicate the virus within Hawaii, all Hawaii people can enjoy free activities with no mask, even at any crowded indoor places.
Aloha.
Omicron variants are more infectious but less deadly, but likely have much less incubation periods.
So, in my two track control of the virus, as I repeatedly stated, tightening our ports with more (pre and post travel) tests are the most crucial and the first thing we need to fully and successfully implement.
I know there may be issues how we need to cost-effectively implement and perform such (quick antigen) tests. But, we can still manage effectively with some alternative ways.
Among others,
1. Test all passengers before boarding.
2. If too expensive to build infrastructures for such preboarding test at the airports, then test during flight.
But, strongly recommend or require an extra test at home before coming to the airport.
(The goal is more to pre-screen the infected and to avoid the number of post arrival quarantine as possible.)
3. Require mask mandate during the flight (and even after arrival but before post arrival tests). (But first, discuss and negotiate with federal government, especially regarding mask mandate during the flight.)
4. Perform self post arrival test(s) on the following day and more if necessary, depending on the prevalence of the virus, (but quckly adjust the intervals and frequency of the tests, as needed), and also self report the result(s) on mobile app.
5. Make sure the government to prepare cost-effectively and have enough people (e.g. contact tracers) and systems to verify and manage such tasks.
6. Advise each tourist hotel to have Qurantine floor (and a small nurse station).
Aloha.
We need next Governor, someone who has good medical knowledge; so, he or she can proactively tackle this pandemic that we have been suffering much.
But, Not LG Green! He had chances to prove it, but very sadly, he did totally opposite to his conscience as a doctor and liaison for COVID-19, having caused tens of thousands unnecessary infections and deaths.
That’s why you need to vote for me, if I run.
P.S. Plz don’t forget that Media and LG Green have been in cahoots, thinking much of their ulterior interests, even at this time of pandemic medical emergency.
Video testimony regarding bill signing ceremony about chlorpyrifos
So sad if this story is true.
However, to give benefit of doubt, if I get elected as your governor, we would want to have some more scientific studies (from third 3 party) on chlorpyrifos, esp. negative health effect on children.
At the same time, from the current scientific data and statistics, I will assess more, and I would repeal the bill, if necessary.
Aloha.
Note: The lady does not know that I am also available to choose for governor.
Hawaii Health Authority.
As you see, it ended on 6/30/2015, during, rather at the beginning of, Gov. Ige’s term.
If I get elected, I would want to investigate why the agency is gone or abolished; and, would want to bring back, if necessary.
Aloha.
Civil Beat – Pesticides Level Below Standard?
Simply, (among other things), the study may have to be redone and independently by a third party agency, who does not have any conflict of interest on the matter and related issues.
Despite my plea and controversy, the assisted suicide bill may likely pass during this legislative session.
This is our situation in current politics: Whoever in power behind the current politics might have wanted in this way, by controlling legislators.
Simply, they may want to save money in the name of helping relieving patient’s pain.
As I predicted, despite implementing their tough vetting process, they (people with conflict of interest) may and would likely find loopholes.
Since Gov Ige is for this bill, there is another reason why I need to be elected as Governor.
If elected, I would do my best to implement (add) the more and most possible vetting process on this prospective bill; but, if cannot, I would want to repeal the bill, esp. if the complete vetting process may be not possible.
Aloha.
Note: (Besides, this bill may not be our top priority among the current issues that Hawaii needs to tackle.)
Civil Beat – Regarding assisted suicide.
Although I may agree in a general sense, your (their) safest protections may not be safest yet, since there still be possible loopholes and possible abuse, e.g. pt’s voice and medical documents can be forged, if the bill is implemented.
Also, once the patient is deceased thru this bill, it may be almost impossible to legally prove anyone (wrongdoer, e.g. due to conflict of interest) held responsible, even if harsh crminal penalty is added to the bill.(Criminal standard burden of proof: Clear and Convincing Evidence and/or Beyond Reasonable Doubt.)
We may need to double and triple check of those possible abuses, if we want it to be implemented.
Besides, since I may suspect possible other ulterior motive of this editorial board (due to and from my own previous experience with this news agency, Civil Beat), I suggest journalists at this news agency may need to check their emotional health first, if they can be apt to make such suggestions to all the Hawaii people.
Simply because, we cannot afford a single mistake of taking someone’s life, in the name of helping relieve pain and death with dignity, but in fact, for the purpose of saving money.
Hawaii has other imminent priorities than this controversial issue.
I hope this non profit news agency study and focus more on how to prioritize social issue, including this agency’s own reform, correctly and more for Hawaii people’s benefits and future.
Aloha.
Assisted Suicide bill should not be passed.
Please remember these reps, and call and remind them not to implement the bill.
I suspect one of the main reasons of the bill is to save money in the name of death with dignity, but possibly wanton disregard to human lives, intentionally or unintentionally, (worse evil than anyone could imagine).
(Fyi, the assisted suicide has been already, currently, held and practiced among the patient families privately; and we don’t need extra law to legalize it.)
If passed, I would see among the most affected people may be “poor people on medicaid” who are chronically and/or terminally ill patients.
We should rather focus on improving our mental and emotional health, especially of those who may be implementing and/or performing the bill, e.g. government officials including lawmakers, hospital and its administrators, insurance and related people, healthcare providers including doctors and nurses.
If we still want to pursue the bill, we may need to prioritize and do the thorough vetting process, first. Once the complete vetting process (and education) are done, then we can implement it.
But, at our current (general) emotional and mental status, we may rather need to focus on our (esp. those who are related to performing the prospective bill) emotional improvement and growth, first.
Simply, impementing the law may not be among our priorities; but, improving our emotional health may be more urgent and important, at this time.
Aloha.
One of my reply or comment on Richard Kim for Governor.
“This (e.g. low salary) may lead doctors to find alternative treatment, which may also lead them to become less ethical.
That is one of the reasons why I am still against bill regarding dying with dignity (or how the bill is covered with good words), although fundamentally I may not be against it.
Plz, remember we need to check ourselves, first, whether we are capable of doing the jobs.
Knowing our current emotional health (including all medical professionals) and further possible loopholes of abuse, I cannot agree with the bill.
More vetting process as well as improvement of our emotional health, esp.on those who may be implementing and/or performing the bill, may be surely necessary.
Note: Dying with dignity may have already been privately performed among some families. Then, why do we want such law?
As I see and feel, there may be or possible, some people may want to take advantage of its legislation.
P.S. 1. Possible abuse of the prospective bill, e.g. on people with medicaid with terminal and/or chronic illnesses.
2.Also, recently, Civil Beat might have conducted a survey or poll, regarding this bill. Although some more people may now approve the bill, however, I may not agree with the data for its scientific significance, e.g. their methods and/or levels of people’s knowledge about pros and cons regarding the bill. So far, did Media (e.g. Civil Beat) provide public sufficient, balanced reports (pros and cons) about the bill? I don’t think so, (as far as I know). Media Reform!
BBC News – Opioid crisis linked to two-year drop in US life expectancy
There should be a multifactorial approach, tackling this issue.
Among other things,
1. Medical professionals (like myself) should be more careful of Rxing (prescribing) narcotic drugs, e.g. by checking patients’ history more carefully, since many doctors may tend to avoid getting more info or confrontation (against patients’ will), due to e.g. fear of losing patients (losing business).
Professionals reform…!
2. Patients Education. Find ways, e.g. to improve patient’s own self esteem; so that they don’t rely much on drugs.
People reform…!
Yes, it is good to have a single payer (Mr. Bernie Sanders’ plan).
But, we need to make sure and have more vetting process before implementing it, because there is going to be no competition and higher chance of corruption possibilities…!
(Once corruption happens it may be harder to correct…)
How about a hybrid, which would reduce the number of payers to 2-3 for the time being, until all possible vetting process is completed?
Legalization of Cannabis and a balanced thinking.
I am neutral on legalization of Cannabis: I am not against it.
One reason; there is a growing trend of the legalization; and I am thinking of positive side (effect) as well.
And it may also be Hawaii democratic party’s agenda.
[If can, I want to be in line with their agenda, as much as possible (since I am a democrat); but I don’t want to deviate much from their-our fundamental principle. Note: I may not agree with them either, especially if I feel they may be deviated from our-their fundamental principle.]
However, I am against it, because its harmful effect, e.g. increased chance of psychosis, especially among young people, (not to mention other negative effects).
But, as long as we implement other protective measures, I will support the legalization. (Among other things,)
1. Up to 25%, 250,000? people, (although more research may be necessary for correct estimate), may be suffering from substance abuse. So, at the same time, we may need to implement such bills or measures e.g. to promote general population’s mental and emotional health. Very important…!
2. Police may need to equip tools, and enforce DUI (Cannabis) more effectively.
3. Educate and Promote young adult to avoid cannabis, e.g. due to its harmful effect, especially on brain growth, impairment, etc.
4. Implement a law, setting a legal age for its usage; (may be higher than that in alcohol?…)
5. Find a way to better enforce those laws and/or measures.
Aloha.
The more I think of the recent event regarding “Assisted Suicide” bill, I feel more urgent need of a reform, (especially among the professionals).
There might have been many more money-driven bills, brought and passed in legislature, sometimes unfairly from the general public’s stand point. Some special interest groups might have benefitted. So what? It is only money…as they may claim.
But, nothing like this one.
Assisted Suicide, Euthanasia?, e.g. taking off from ventilator from patients, might have been already (commonly) happening, privately between families and doctors with or without patients consent, (depending on their level of consciousness at that time of decision making).
Then, why do they want to implement as a law?
Because, they may want to justify their active participation, the prematurely ending patients’ life, (and guilt?), but, not want to disclose the fact that they may want to get benefit, e.g. save money.. But, they might have been, almost exclusively, advertising and putting emphasis on patients’ own choice and benefit, relieving pain and suffering (at the end stage of their lives).
Who may get benefit if the bill passes?
E.g. Hospitals, their administrators, doctors especially if hospitals are part of their ownership, insurance, and, even government (tax payers), if the terminally ill patients are on Medicaid or government assisted program, etc.
But, look how people, especially professionals, who are supposed to think more deeply about this kind of controversial issue, have been doing!
Even after the proposed bill was deferred, (among other things),
1. Only the day after, Honolulu Star-Advertiser made an article to pressure the legislators, with a help from an influential person, former gov. Abercrombie.
2. Civil Beat recently published a biased article, written by Rep. Dr. Richard Creagan. The article almost exclusively stated only positive side of the bill, with an emotional plea.
3. Hawaii democratic party recently sent emails to its members in order to pressure the legislators to revive the bill.
We may dogmatically say that even professionals may want to exchange life with money…?!.
This should have been a bottom line, the fundamental level of professionalism, they should have not given up for, even if they want to justify that it was truly necessary to find alternative way for survival…
We need REFORM, dearly.
Aloha.
I support the single payer system, (as Mr. Sanders has been demanding); however, we may need to have very thorough vetting process (esp. how to prevent and safeguard against e.g. possible corruptions and poor services), because we don’t want to fail like communist system.
How about a hybrid form, for a while, til all the vetting process become complete…?!
Regardless, definitely, we need some kind of reform…! Picture from FB
I agree, generally; but, we may have to be still very careful how to oversee and manage the single payer since mismanagement may lead to not a good service or a disaster (e.g., communist system).
Maybe, a (better) hybrid format?…
But, at least, there may have to be lesser numbers than now…

People Reform: Self-realization and emotional healing (i.e. educating and working on ourselves) may be (more) necessary.

We may suffer from trauma, in one way or another, throughout our lives. But, with self-realization and cultivation, we can make our lives better thru healing process.
The irony is, unless we get healed, our psychological burdens of the trauma may be transferred to next generations; and they may continue to suffer…
Let us all TRY to stop this chain of pain and suffering; even if it is not easy.
Because, the more we try, less will they (the next generations) suffer.
Note: Trying is always better than not trying; even if we tend to repeatedly fail…
If and when I get elected, one of the things I want to focus may be mental health of State’s population. Yet, I may need to gather more information and/or analyze; but some of them can become possibly or already became homeless. But, my concern is not just those who are already mentally affected, but also those who may look normal but cannot function well socially. I think it may be a reason why it is not uncommon to see people with low self-esteem and/or chemical dependency.
Well, we might have unknowingly inherited these (e.g. crabs in a bucket syndrome) from the previous generation(s); but we may also need to know that we may unknowingly pass these problems on to our next generation, as well.
I know it is very sensitive issue; but getting and feeling better of ourselves (society as a whole) with higher self-esteem may be a top priority as well.
And, I strongly feel this may be one way we can preserve and promote Aloha Spirit..!
But, I will think more carefully and try to find a way to a gradual change in a more positive direction, (and more practically).
Thank you very much for all of your support.
Mahalo.
