My take on this issue of disqualification of Ms. Timoteo as a candidate for the State House.
This is simply a double standard by attorney general’s office and our executive branch of government.
In fact, Ms. Kunimoto, the deputy attorney general, is currently my opponent in court on Ms. Hanabusa’s disqualification as candidate for governor, (in violation of our “resign to run” mandate, Article II, Section 7 of our state constitution).
Simply, I felt sad as a citizen of Hawaii, because I know the deputy attorney general is now busy fighting against me, trying to protect or support Ms. Hanabusa’s illegality as a gubernatorial candidate.
What an irony!
If the attorney general truly wants to protect our law and constitution this precisely, why not also disqualify Ms. Hanabusa?
After all, it is Gov. Ige’s fault, having this double standard, no matter what political repercussions he may fear from Ms. Hanabusa’s case.
I hope I understand this…
