Yesterday, I (randomly) met and had some talk with a man who works at Public media (PBS? volunteer, he said).
He said, he cannot accept me as a newly elected officer because I did not have political experience.
Not to mention many other elected officers who have no previous political experiences, like President Trump, Gov. Schwarzenegger, and many others, I dared to tell him that his logic has flaws.
And, I told him that for “your kids and grandkids and future of Hawaii” a regular citizen like me should be elected; because, under many career politicians, Hawaii has been so much corrupted, and our society dearly needs reforms.
Even if I want to think for and in favor of his view and logic, it does not make sense at all, because wannabe politicians are (usually and mostly, if not, all) prescreened and preselected by Media and their power group.
Simply, his logic is, if you are not pre-selected by us (media and power group), then you cannot govern our society.
I need to be conditioned for their interests and corruption if and before I get elected?.. lol.
My dear People of Hawaii,
Do you see why and how our politics might have been so bad for so many years?
Aloha.
How to better read Media’s report.
So far, I might have well proven how bad Media can be, esp in politics. Unfortunately, it may continue as much as they want.
Media may be more powerful than politicians; and, in fact, they might have controlled our society in their wanted way. (Media might have already prescreened, preeselected, and installed many of our politicians for their and other special interests.)
However, unless there is conflict, Media might have done a good job. That is why I have encouraged them to reform, by avoiding conflicts as much as they can.
If there exist conflicts, they may use any and all possible tools (including mis, un, dis, partial information as well as controlling our politicians) to win their interests.
One example is our natural environment.
Media might have overly protected our natural environment to disguise and mislead people with their false and biased reports, I call, “social pollutions”.
It is just like a mother who neglects her child at home, may overly protect the child in public.
How to detect their (Media’s) abuse?
We can check their reports if they stated in balanced way, including most of, if not, all possible pros, cons, and options, as much they can.
If one sided or lacks balance, it is OK to suspect their intention, even if it may sound good for general public.
Please, remember their true intentions may be hidden behind their supposedly good reports.
Let us open our eyes and ears more and better.
Aloha.
Ms. May,
Thanks for your comment.
I agree; we want to save our environment and keep our state from any pollution.
But, we may need to think of our unbalanced economy, over 7000 homeless people (the highest per capita), ever rising living costs, getting over populated, rail, high taxes, etc.
Because of these, we may need to explore all possible options, and vitalize our economy in balanced way.
And, because our people’s lives are too important to ignore, we may need to PRIORITIZE, while doing our best in saving our environment as much as we can.
I know you may not like the idea.
As a medical professional, I know sometimes poisons may and can become medicine, if properly used. And, dogmatically speaking, since we are situated in the middle of the ocean, the environmental negative impact due to our prospective balanced economic growth, may be relatively small.
I promise I will do my best to preserve our environment as much as we can, while working on the projects.
I hope you understand better.
Aloha.
