Simple Rule of Thumb about elections, to some voters (e.g. who to vote).
We have often been misinformed and/or manipulated esp. by Media, as if elections are all about money and certain policy issues.
Although we cannot deny the specific policy issues (of the candidates) are important parameters (to check); but most importantly, candidates’ any association or ties to special interests, should be the crucial decision making factor; because, e.g. voters may not find the candidates who have the same interests with them, on every and all policy issues, even in the same party.
Furthermore, special interest groups may support certain candidate(s) and manipulate voters well with the candidate(s)’ specific policy issues, as if they (the policy issues) are about and for public good and welfare, (but, hiding their ulterior motives).
So, simply check the candidates’ affiliations or association with any special interests, esp. thru donations that they receive(d).
More donations by special interests mean less likely the candidates may work for the general public’s interests, if elected…!!!
Media may also have been falsely informing the voters as if generating more money (more donations) should win the elections; but, in fact, the more money may mean more ties to special interests, which may likely mean they work against people’s (public’s) interests.
I hope (some) voters understand better…
