Improve Self-Esteem…

I agree; but, it may not be easy if we suffer from low self-esteem…
Improving our self-esteem may be a key to our success in any (kind of) relationships and happiness in our daily lives.

Being Happy Is Not Immature…

Trying to be happy is not immature. If anyone sees other person immature, being happy; it may be better if we check our own emotional status, first. Because, there may be a good reason why we have that perception about others. Aloha.

Homeless Shelter; and Stay Above with Compassion…

Recently, I received this post-it from my alma mater, reminding me of our 25th year class reunion in a few months. Now, I am thinking whether I should attend or not, because I was already there last summer, and it is far, and hotels expensive, and good but cheap foods are not easy to find in New York…lol.

Throughout my career, I experienced many things, but there was one (of) most difficult time to be being a dentist and professional.

Being and staying above the patient’s level of thinking and perspectives.

Not to be narssicistic or authoritative, but being a medical professional is hard, e.g. when patients sometimes suspect or accuse of (allegedly) wrongdoings, especially when immediate or interim results of treatments may not be good.

Although our profession is not perfect science, but, most of time, we hope and expect to be better, when patients are treated.
But, it is especially hard when we are falsely accused; (when there are unexpectedly rather permanently? failed results or patients suffer from complications postoperatively).

Sorry about the long introduction, but my subject matter on this post is Homeless.

I saw a fb post last night, regarding announcement of pubic meeting or forum regarding homeless.

Simply, in my view, I believe they need and stay in shelters (temporary housings) regardless of their wishes.

And, we may need to find a way to build large scale of costeffective shelters with minimum costs, which also can be used later for other emergencies, or minimum level prisons, etc. (More prisons may be needed, when we want to bring back our inmates from mainland.)

(I also mentioned we may need to house mentally ill homeless seperately with medical staff’s presence until they find permanent mental facilities.)

Homeless may need to rehabilitate in the shelters, (and at the same time, we educate and train them there), so that they can come back to our society, hopefully quickly.

But, what if they refuse to stay in shelters, (even if they can freely move around as long as they abide by house rules)? (Not to mention the costs of building and maintaining the shelters.)

Well, we may need to find ways to persuade and/or have them stay in shelters, while (promising) we provide minimum but necessary amenities. Besides, we may also face some oppositions (e.g. ACLU), if they refuse to stay in shelters.

Plz, remember we may need to stay above their perspectives, but with very much compassionate minds.

Aloha.
