Hawaii is such a melting pot.
How about non-native (English) speaking governor?

Someone claimed, in Richard Kim for Governor page, as if only perfect English speaker should be governor in Hawaii.

I speak English as a second language, (since I came to Hawaii during my late teenage year). With my imperfect English and accent, I was still able to complete my education thru 4 different universities in US, with a doctoral degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from prestigious Columbia University in New York and postdoctoral training at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Furthermore, I was able to represent myself in multiple times in California Court; writing, preparing, and filing all the necessary legal documents by myself, (all the way to the supreme court), fighting against lawyers, judges, and justices.

Just for your information,

Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger had become and been the 38th Governor of California, in two consecutive terms, with his English and accent, (as a second language).

I hope someone tells me my English is not as good as his…(Oops, he might have had thicker skin than mine, since he was althletic…hahaha)
