Dear US Senators and Congresswoman from Hawaii,
If and when the state’s and national interests may be in conflict, please think more carefully and thoughtfully…e.g. by negotiating or bargaining?
Please, remember and don’t forget that you are representing Hawaii people, too…!!

(Yup, the environment and its conservation effort is important, but may be not strong enough reason to kill State’s commercial fishery. Well, the national monument might have already been there for the purpose…)
How about strategic (military) importance of the area?
If so, Fed might have won over the Fed’s vs State’s interest.
